Short : GUI for DMS Vx.x, made with Argue.
DMS GUI requires Argue V1.2 to run.
This read me file, is not meant as a doc file to DMS GUI, as DMS GUI is
made so it so easy as possibly to use, but I will explain some things about
how to use DMS GUI.
The string requester "1. DMS archive" : This is where you select the DMS
archive to decrunch, or select a name on a new DMS archive, remember, if you
have spaces in the path, you have to use " ".
If you for example, have all the DMS archives on a directory called DMS
archives, on your hard disk, you have to enter a " before, and after the
name, in the string requester.
You can click on the button to the fare right, in the string requester, an
Argue will open a file requester, for you to select the file with.
The string requester "2. DMS archive" : This one, is only used, if you want
to repack a DMS archive, also with this string requester, you have to have
the path in " ", if you have spaces in the path.
You can click on the button to the fare right, in the string requester, an
Argue will open a file requester, for you to select the file with.
"Read archive from" : Here you select the drive, you want DMS to read the
archive from.
"Write archive to" : Here you select the drive, you want DMS to decrunch
the archive to.
If you want to change what drives, you want to have in the Read archive
from, and Write archive to, you can do this, all you have to do is :
1. Load the file "DMS GUI V1.0" into a ASCII editor, like Cygnus Editor.
2. Change "DF0:" "DF1:" and so on, in the lines "From=Read archive
from .........", and "To=Write archive to..... "to the drives you want.
3. Save the file back to disk.
Low track, and High track : Here you select what track, you want DMS to
start from, and to stop with, if you want DMS to start from track 0, and
stop with track 79, you don't have to enter anything here.
All the buttons, underneath Low track, and High track, is DMS functions,
for more information about them, see the DMS doc file.
That was all there is to say about using DMS GUI.
